Christmas to do list 2014

I love the City of Melbourne especially during the Christmas season! You can't help but smile and get into the festive spirit once all the lights and decorations are up. There is so much to do and it’s a night full of fun for the family and close friends.

I have had a lot of people ask me where to go in the city during the Christmas season so I thought I would share with you all my favourite spots

Bourke Street
I like to start at Bourke Street Mall and look at the decorations over the tram lines the bells change colours and the wreaths hanging over David Jones are stunning. It's a beautiful spot to take photos and it's also a good opportunity to take some selfies for your Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. If you plan to take a selfie please pay attention to the trams

Myer Windows
The Myer windows are also at Bourke Street; the windows are 59-year tradition in Melbourne. This year's theme is a 'Santa Claus and the Three Bears' its must see, it has a great storyline and the animation work is amazing. The whole family would love it.
Myer windows times: 7:30am-1:00am (free event)

After the windows I walk to the Town Hall

The Town Hall
The Town Hall is my favourite place to visit during the Christmas season! During the day you can see the Gingerbread village by Epicure. But after dark that's when the magic happens the Town Hall lights up in beautiful and bright colours with the light projection show. It seriously gets better every year!
The projection show times: 9:00pm-11:00pm (free event)

After the Town Hall I make my way to the City Square

City Square
During the Christmas season the City Square is transformed into The Christmas Square. There is a giant Christmas tree, giant candy canes, a nativity scene and you can send your letters to Santa there. There are many great photo opportunities there

After you visit The City Square it's time to have a rest head over to Brunetti get some coffee, cake and reflect on what a great night you have had in the most livable city during the most wonderful time of the year
